Welcome to Smokium Vape Specialists!
Renowned author Mark Twain once said, "Giving up cigarettes is easy, I've done it hundred of times".
As one of the original vape specialty stores in East London, we have over five years experience in assisting Londoner's in the process of giving up for good. In the heart of the culturally rich borough of Shoreditch known for it's insta-worthy street art, vibrant nightlife and bustling markets, we are located on Brick Lane, famous for it's quintessential East London experience.
Over the years, we have aided countless customer's on their journey to quit smoking. All of our staff were smokers at one point in their lives. Having experienced the struggle of quitting first hand, we know that it can be difficult. What makes us different is that above all, we realize that inhaling anything other than a pair of oxygen atoms is not without its risks.
I would hate to be new to vaping in today's market. There is so much information and more importantly, misinformation on the risks and benefits associated. If only we all had a personal fake news filter. One that would thunderously exclaim FAKE NEWS at every other vaping related article written by various forms of media, preferably in Donald Trump's voice. So, how can you prevent your mind from being clouded by all of the smoke and mirrors?
Well let's look at the facts. As of December 2019, there have been 49 reported vape related deaths, all of which have been reported in the US. In the UK, there have been zero reported deaths to date. Many of the deaths in the US have been linked to a compound called Vitamin E Acetate, an ingredient believed to be used to emulsify THC liquids which are illicit in the UK. To compound the problem, well thought out and successful marketing campaigns such as JUUL's introduction to the market has seen a huge increase in underage vaping across the US. In the UK, all forms of advertisement for nicotine based products are illegal. It seems the key difference can be found in the regulations around vaping within the respected nations and these regulations have contributed to extremely different outcomes.
Public Health England and NHS experts estimate that vaping is at least 95% less harmful than smoking cigarettes. However, many of us still believe nicotine is very harmful to health. The fact is, although it is addictive, nicotine is relatively harmless: it's the thousands of other chemicals in tobacco smoke that cause almost all the harm from smoking. E-liquid, the form the liquid that is used in e-cigarettes although containing nicotine, does not contain tobacco or produce tar or carbon monoxide – 2 of the most damaging constituents in tobacco smoke, which you inhale from cigarettes. https://www.nhs.uk/oneyou/for-your-body/quit-smoking/using-e-cigarettes-vapes-to-quit-smoking/
The truth of the matter is that if you don't smoke then we wouldn't suggest you start vaping. However, if the choice is between smoking cigarettes and vaping, then it's simply a no-brainer. Every cigarette you smoke is doing your body far more damage than you could imagine but don't just take our word for it. Do your own research and by that, I mean don't just read the headlines. Look at multiple articles from various sources and bare in mind that the strict regulations in the UK have at time of writing, have ensured that no deaths have arisen from an industry that emerged back in 2007. The US on the other hand, is a different story altogether.
